Issued by The National Weather Service, Portland OR: ... INCREASING THREAT OF SNOW THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY...

A WEAK LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL DROP SOUTHWARD ALONG THE OREGON COAST THURSDAY NIGHT... THEN SWING INLAND ACROSS SOUTHWEST OREGON EARLY FRIDAY. WITH THE COLD AIR MASS IN PLACE... ANY PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS SNOW.

CONFIDENCE OF SNOWFALL POTENTIAL HAS INCREASED. LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE NORTH OREGON COAST LATER THURSDAY EVENING... THEN SPREAD SOUTH AND EAST INTO AREAS SOUTH OF A TILLAMOOK TO SALEM TO SANTIAM PASS LINE. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL LIKELY OCCUR BETWEEN 5 AM AND 2 PM FRIDAY.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD GENERALLY BE AROUND 1 TO 2 INCHES ALONG THE CENTRAL OREGON COAST AND IN THE SOUTHERN WILLAMETTE VALLEY. AREAS IN THE CENTRAL OREGON COAST RANGE AND THE LANE COUNTY CASCADES AND FOOTHILLS MAY SEE 2 TO 4 INCHES.

LITTLE IF ANY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN AREAS NORTH OF A TILLAMOOK TO SALEM LINE... WITH ONLY OCCASIONAL FLURRIES EXPECTED FOR THOSE AREAS.

MOTORISTS TRAVELING IN BENTON... LINN AND LANE COUNTIES... AND POINTS SOUTH AND EAST OF LANE COUNTY... LATER THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY... SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SLICK SNOW COVERED AND ICY ROAD CONDITIONS.
