Event Date & Time:
Sunday, March 2, 2014 - 3:00pm
Event Location:
McKenzie River Mountain Resort, Blue River DR., Blue River, OR

The McKenzie ClearWater Coalition (MCWC) is hosting a meeting at the McKenzie River Mountain Resort in Blue River on Sunday, March 2nd, at 3 p.m. The topic for the meeting is “Riparian Update.” Speakers will include State Senator Frank Prozanski. He will discuss activities at the state level that will be of interest to residents of the McKenzie River Valley. The timing of the meeting will fall at or near the end of this year’s short legislative session so an update of legislative results will be in order. State Representative Phil Barnhart will also try to attend the meeting. Updates from Lane County and the U.S. Forest Service are also planned. A Q&A session will allow residents to explore topics in more depth.
The informational meeting will be followed by a 2-bit chili cook-off at 4:30. Residents, friends and family members will vote for their favorite chili chef with quarter tickets which can be purchased at the door. A full chili supper will be served to those who stay for the chili cook-off. The entire event is free. Everyone is welcome for the meeting and cook-off. Membership in the MCWC is not required to attend.
