Megan RyanBLUE RIVER: Megan Ryan, a 28-year-old woman reported missing on September 13th, was located Tuesday morning by private contractors off USFS Road 19 near Cougar Reservoir.  The contractors had been working on a spur road off Road 19, also known as Aufderheide Drive.
Searchers had been looking for her after receiving a missing person report at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The U.S. Post Office inspector was puzzled. He’d just arrived at the tiny logging-company town of Shevlin, deep in the ponderosa pine woods south of Bend — and found it gone.
Shade trees still towered over manicured home sites. A stray whiff drifted in the wind from an open pit where an outhouse once had stood. And on the spot where he’d expected to find the Shevlin Post Office, there was nothing but the bare outline of a building.

"It's easy to check vegetable and flower seed viability, and it can save you time later when the gardening season begins," said Ross Penhallegon, horticulturist with the Oregon State University Extension Service. "Some seeds remain viable for a year and others for three or more years."
