Time to get “All Ducked Out”

Walterville paradeIt will be “Fair Day” on September 7th.  The Walterville Grange plans to be “All Ducked Out” for the 63rd annual Walterville Community Fair.  The event will have a new schedule this year so be sure to plan ahead.

An added feature this year will be the Walterville Waddle 5K run/walk starting at 8 a.m.  People can register early by contacting the McKenzie River Nursery or between 6:45 and 7:45 the morning of the race with a small entry fee.

The GWA will serve a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and breakfast sandwiches, between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. at affordable prices.  

Fair entries of canning, baking, sewing, arts/crafts, produce, flowers, or other items should be brought to the hall on September 7th, between 7:30 and 9 a.m.  Judging of entries starts at 9:30 a.m.  

Flag raising by local Scouts will be at 10 a.m., followed by the parade at 11 a.m. with a tractor show and shine. Kids games will begin after the parade.

The fair’s famous chicken dinner will be earlier this year.  It will be a tailgate Bar-B-Q chicken dinner with all the fixings for $8 - from 11:30 until 3:30.

Other activities will include a doggie parade at 1:30 as well as raffle prize drawings at 3 p.m., with tickets sold throughout the day.  There will be a special raffle prize of a 5.3 cubic foot freezer (perfect for small spaces) with tickets sold separately.

The event promises something for everyone with lots of vendors, fantastic food, kids games, and great fun with family, friends, and neighbors.  It will all be happening at 39259 Camp Creek Road on September 7th, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.”
