Antiques Road Show at Eagle Rock Lodge

For anyone “in the know,” you may have caught a glimpse of the Eagle Rock Lodge on the 1-23-12 airing of “Antiques Road Show.” Some of the show’s producers stayed at this lovely inn during the filming. A segment on antique fishing gear was shot on the property, with its lovely gardens and the rushing McKenzie River in the background.

“Missed it” you say? Like so many gems along the McKenzie, the Eagle Rock Lodge is easy to miss. And even if you are familiar with the Lodge’s splendor, you may not know about its gem of a gift shop which is opened daily. Debbie has tucked this sweet little boutique inside the Lodge and filled it with exquisite one-of-a kind jewelry as well as bath and body products, beautiful scarves, unique handbags from the world over plus home décor and tabletop items.

Having just returned from a Seattle shopping spree, Debbie’s shop is literally overflowing with treasures but my favorite spot is the 40% cupboard tucked into the corner. I never fail to find something wonderful to buy and, once Debbie gift wraps my selection at no cost, my bargain buy becomes very special indeed.

If you’re like me, you often need a last minute “something” for a birthday, anniversary or holiday. The gift shop at Eagle Rock Lodge (49198 McKenzie Hwy) always has that “just right” item for gifting plus a friendly cup of coffee or tea “on the house.” I find myself leaving with a “gem” of a gift and a smile because Debbie has made the shopping experience so much fun.

Oh, by the way…when Debbie asked the “Antiques Road Show” crew where their favorite filming spot has been thus far, they replied: “right here on the McKenzie.” Debbie believes that is true because of the natural beauty of our lovely river. I know better. The location is their favorite because of the unique beauty, warmth and attention to detail that is Debbie and the Eagle Rock Lodge.
