Art in many forms showcased at festival

'37 ChevyOrganizers of this year’s McKenzie Art Festival report it was a big success. According to the Emerald Art Center, “This festival had the best turn-out to this date and will continue to grow every year. We want to give a huge thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers, artists and participants.”

Held on the grounds of McKenzie Fire & Rescue’s Leaburg headquarters, the site offered enough space for visitors time to explore every artist’s booth while getting an in-depth look without feeling rushed.

The festival offered a good showing of juried local artists as well as a turnout of classic automobiles. Taking to the stage were musician Paul Biondi, singer Carl Faddis, and the Old Time Fiddlers, along with appearances by Jerry Zybach’s Delta Blues, Kudana Marimba, and Laura Kemp.

Booths with stained glass, paintings and other artwork were arrayed along a promenade behind the Leaburg Library. The inside of Ken Hern’s coupe had a number of people leaning inside for a closer look.
