Make the McKenzie Connection!

Public Lands Day

National Public Lands Day at the Blue River Park

Public Lands Day

This Saturday, September 27, volunteers will be continuing work on a project that began two years ago in association with the Ford Family Foundation.  This year the group will be replacing picnic tabletops and benches that have decayed in the forested setting. The group will also begin erecting directional maps in two locations in the park that will designate the trails leading to a new footbridge to be built over the spillway at the base of the dam. The bridge will connect trails on both sides of Blue River.  Over the summer, trails were cleared to gain access for heavy equipment required for the installation of the bridge and clearing scotch broom.

Everyone is invited to help pitch in from 8 am to 5 pm.
