Leaburg Dam road closures

The Eugene Water & Electric Board’s expedited work plan at Leaburg Dam includes bringing the No. 2 roll gate back into operation. Crews began removing the top three rows of the wooden bulkhead today, January 9th.

On Saturday, the contractor and EWEB operations and engineering staff will be conducting some testing of the No. 2 roll gate. Starting at about 1 p.m. on Saturday, the bridge over the dam will be closed to all pedestrians and vehicles. The closure will last until about 5 p.m.

There will be some programming and testing work on Sunday, but these activities will not required a bridge closure.

For the week of January 12th to 16th, people can expect daily closures from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. At this point, utility spokesmen don’t know if there will be periodic closures of the bridge on the weekend of January 17th and 18th.
