“Great location…. awesome little store…. all employees are super friendly…. great place for visitors and people fishing…worms, gas, life vests on loan and a good variety of products with good prices.” These are just a few of many reviews about Mathers Market!

Sometime in the late ‘40s – early ‘50s, C. Harold Mathers opened a small gas station and market in Cedar Flat, Oregon. In 1983, Dave Wing purchased the Mather’s and Camp Creek markets (but later sold Camp Creek Market); and, subsequently, remodeled and added on to the original store.

Native to the Cedar Flat area, one of Dave’s sons (Derek) began helping his dad out at the Market. Derek was 13 at the time and has now been at Mather’s Market for 20 years! Derek would describe himself as the “potential future owner of the Market…. a work in progress”; but for now, he is happy to be the store manager and working with family!

Derek (a Thurston H.S. Graduate) married Megan at the age of 21. They met at church camp, later united and have two boys. Derek’s priorities are strong: The Lord, Megan, his boys and the extended family! In fact, when you are served in the store, one feels like a family atmosphere exists (From Tracy, Justin, Nick – his brother and Sue, to others assisting).

If you are in the area, stop by, purchase gas and snacks and have a chat! 38477 McKenzie Hwy., Cedar Flat  -  Milepost 10.5. 541-726-8570  -  Store Hours: Mon. – Fri.  6:30 am – 8 pm Sat. – Sun.  7:30 am – 8 pm
