OSP Report - July 29

July 20: 10:19: Crash, Non-Injury – Hwy. 126E, Milepost 26. Troopers dispatched to report of a two motor vehicle non-injury crash. An operator involved in the crash advised, the other party did not exchange information upon request and continued eastbound. A Trooper contacted the other party and collected crash report information. Investigation revealed a Black Lexus Sedan was stopped behind a White WANC Trailer, actively being pulled by a Black 2018 Kenworth Semi Tractor, due to direction from flagging personnel present on scene. For unknown reason the WANC Trailer reversed and struck the front bumper of the Lexus. The operator of the Lexus attempted to obtain insurance information from the operator of the Kenworth. Operator of the Lexus advised she only wanted to exchange information. Crash report documented for insurance referral purposes. Involved: 54-year-old male from Miami, FL; 56-year-old female.

July 22: 15:49: Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Alcohol and Controlled Substances – Hwy. 126E, Mp. 30. Responded to a welfare check on the highway where a construction worker advised a driver was falling asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle. Made contact with the driver and signs of impairment were observed. The driver consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently arrested for DUII. The driver provided a breath sample of .03% BAC. This sample was not consistent with observed behavior. The driver refused a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation as well as providing a urine sample without incident. The driver was cited for DUII alcohol and controlled substances and was provided a courtesy ride to his residence. His vehicle was towed.
