State Police Report – January 30

Jan. 26: 18:31: Traffic Crimes, All Except DUII – Hwy. 126E & Walterville Lane. Trooper observed a vehicle on the highway that was stopped on the fog line. The driver yielded onto the shoulder and advised her headlights were not working and she was trying to get home only 4 to 5 miles away. It was explained to the driver it was unsafe to drive a vehicle at night with no headlights. Driver declined a courtesy ride and agreed to call someone to come get her. Before getting a chance to leave, the same vehicle started driving westbound toward Springfield. With lights and sirens activated, the vehicle failed to yield to stop for law enforcement. A Springfield PD officer joined in and assisted with boxing in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for Reckless Driving and Eluding A Police Office. The vehicle was towed as a hazard. Involved: black Honda Accord, 71-year-old female from Springfield.
