Garbage

To the residents who believe you’re entitled to abandoned old RV’s along Hwy 126 or leave household garbage by the McKenzie River, in county parks, federal lands and yes, even in the canal. Please stop!
Twice in the last month someone has intentionally thrown considerable bags of garbage at the boat ramp off Deerhorn Co Park and at the park itself. (photo) I’m sure you don’t care that nocturnal animals scavenging for food break into them and scatter your garbage further. While walking the Walterville canal I’ve seen a person in a white pickup stop on the McNutt Road bridge near Honey Paddle and toss buckets of kitchen waste into the canal. Please stop!
It seems you have no second thoughts about littering & the impact on the environment and others who clean up after you. (Hwy dept, Co Parks, Federal workers, Adopt- a-Road & neighborhood watch volunteers to name a few.)
I’ll save you the sermon on being a good steward but ask you take direct responsibility for yourself. Be respectful of the watershed & your neighbors who live in the McKenzie corridor and are impacted by your thoughtless acts. What you’re doing is wrong. You know it’s wrong; that’s why you do it during the night or when you think no one’s watching. So please just stop!
