Conservation Rafting

The River House Outdoor Center and the McKenzie River Trust will host a Conservation Rafting event for 12+ on September 6 from 10 am to 4 pm to learn about conservation work occurring along the McKenzie River., The McKenzie River Trust will provide staff and provide tours of property they are doing conservation work on, as well as impromptu lessons on flora and fauna while rafting. The River House Outdoor Center will provide the rafting equipment. Meet at the River House Outdoor Center, 301 N Adams Street in Eugene, wearing shoes that can get wet and quick dry clothes. Fees are $0 for residents and $75 for non-residents. (541) 682-5329

School meals

School meals are free for all Springfield Public Schools (SPS) Students during the 2025-26 school year. SPS is participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision.

This means that all enrolled students of Springfield Public Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge each day of the school year.

Line dancing

It’s time to kick up your heels at the Vida McKenzie Community Center. Join Hannah at the VMCC on September 8th, 15th, and 22nd for country line dancing lessons. The instructor-led line dancing lessons by Hannah Case are sure to be a boot stomping good time. Hats and boots are encouraged.

Learn fun moves, meet great people, and have a good time. The doors open at 7 and dancing starts at 7:30 pm. Pay when you walk in the door: $15 for a single lesson or all three lessons for just $30. The doors at 90377 Thomson Lane will open at 7 pm for refreshments.
