Foley Ridge Fire Contained, Evacuations Lifted

The Foley Ridge Fire, burning since September 6 in the McKenzie River Ranger District, was 58% contained on the 30th, at 497 acres.

On Monday, officials reported crews had secured fire lines and continued work on a shaded fuel break along Foley Ridge Road. Those efforts were focused on repairing fire-damaged areas and reducing fuel loads.

Closures: Highway 242 is no longer closed due to fire activity, though the Oregon Department of Transportation’s seasonal closure remains in place between mileposts 61.91 and 76.80. The Willamette National Forest has reduced its closure order, but the Rainbow Falls and Separation Lake trailheads remain closed, and the Foley Ridge Trailhead is inaccessible.
