Trio Sonata

The Golden Age of the Trio Sonata – From Purcell to Bach will be at the Jaqua Concert Hall, The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts, 868 High St, Eugene, on Saturday, November 15, at 7:30 pm & Sunday, November 16, at 3 pm.

Alice Blankenship and her microphilharmonic Baroque ensemble on period instruments focused in on the Trio Sonata, which was incredibly durable for the entire Baroque period, but has a kind of Golden Age in the period from 1690-1720. It crossed cultures and countries, and it was really the go-to chamber ensemble of the Baroque period.
