Artists in Residence at Leaburg Library

The Leaburg Library welcomes watercolorist Julia Sandidge as its artist for the month of February as part of the library’s ongoing program, “Artists In Residence”. Julia’s beautiful paintings will be on display in the annex Room of the library beginning Monday, February 2nd.

Julia discovered her passion for art as early as third grade when her teacher chose her painting – and not the most popular girl’s painting – to be showcased at the local shopping mall. She never forgot that feeling of art’s embrace.

Sandidge doesn’t describe herself as an artist; rather as a student of art with a life-long passion. But it wasn’t until retirement that she was able to truly devote herself to creating art.

She lives on the McKenzie River with her husband, writer Duane Noriyuki. Life here has inspired her to express her love for the beauty that surrounds and beckons her. Watercolors allow her to reflect the subtle changes that occur in nature and life.

Please come see us at the library during our regular hours, and spend some time in quiet appreciation for the soft beauty of Julia’s lovely watercolors.

The library is open Monday through Thursday from 1:30 until 4 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm.
