Tech Help

People who need some help unlock the digital world can get help with their basic tech questions thanks to a free class called the Tech Help Cafe. Questions brought to Lane Community College’s open lab can present them to a facilitator who will help them find answers and build tech confidence. It’s billed as a supportive setting where people can learn at their own pace and discover how to find answers independently.
The Computer Learning Lab is open on Tuesdays, from 5 to 6 pm, through February 24. Lane Community College (LCC) provides several computer labs, with the main, most accessible location for general student use being the Library Workstations on the 2nd floor of the Center Building at the main campus, 4000 E 30th Ave in Eugene. Year of the Horse
While the Year of the Fire Horse begins February 17 and ends on February 5, 2027, people will be able to join in festivities during the February 6th First Friday ArtWalk. On hand will be a diverse array of artists, a youth and kid area, and an opportunity to vote for your favorite in a pop-up art contest of Horse Artwork at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Eugene. While there, you can also enjoy engaging performances and demonstrations including Chinese lion dancing, Taiko drumming, and multiple forms of martial arts, and grab some delicious food from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
As the seventh sign in the 12-year cycle, the Horse symbolizes freedom, speed, and hard work. This year is expected to be one of flux and major change, favoring calculated, swift decisions and leadership. It is considered a time to take initiative, though it may require careful navigation of challenges.
Truffle Quest
Taking place on February 6 at the Lane Events Center in Eugene, the Joriad™ North American Truffle Dog Championship will bring together dogs of all sizes to see which can find truffle-scented targets around the arena. Spectators are welcome to view the morning’s preliminary round; the final round, set to be held later that afternoon, is not open to the public.
