Yard Sale
Yard Sale at the Upper McKenzie Community Center. Vendors can reserve a table for $20, keep 100% of your proceeds. Participant should bring their clean, gently loved, resale-ready items. And, those not interested in hosting a table can donate clean, well-cared-for, fully functional, desirable items to the community center’s sale table. All proceeds from donated goods will go directly to UMCC to support local programs and events.
To keep the sale high-quality and enjoyable for shoppers, the Center kindly asks that all items be: Gently used or lightly loved, clean and well cared for, unbroken, complete, and fully functional, and desirable and resale-ready. A good rule of thumb: If you wouldn’t buy it yourself, please don’t bring or donate it.
Reserve your table or arrange a donation today. Email umccevents@gmail
Art Talk
Sheri Smith-Holgate and Lizzy Cramer will detail their differing takes on basket creation during their Art Talk scheduled for 2 p.m. on March 7th at the O’Brien Memorial Library in Blue River.
Both have become skilled at what some might call making something from nothing by creating objects by weaving or intertwining raw materials like twigs from trees like willow, vines, and grasses or needles.
Sheri’s work has appeared locally and internationally, and I teach these skills nationwide. Lizzy is the lead clinician at Orchid Health in Blue River whose work is often featured at local events.
Waddle/Run
Your support is requested for the Waddle 5K Walk/Run, which has been a part of this community for 12 years. This year’s event will be on September 12th at the Walterville Community Center. People are invited to come be a part of this fun-filled, family-friendly event by volunteering.
Volunteer positions range from a couple of hours ‘day of’ the race to fundraising or staffing the registration booth, as well as marshalling the racecourse or presenting winners with their prizes. In addition to building community values and strength, proceeds go to maintaining the wonderful historic community hall.
The recent project at the Walterville Hall was a complete upgrade on the westside with insulation, windows and siding thanks to our friends in the neighborhood.
To volunteer, contact Jeff Dehne at 541-915-2163 by text or email 97489waddle@gmail.com put “Waddle” in the subject.
