Road Closed
Forest Service Road 19, also known as Aufderheide Drive, will be closed from April 1 – 30 for bridge construction near milepost 55.5. It will be closed to all traffic at all hours throughout the closure period as crews install a 61-foot concrete bridge to replace a failing section of the road, and complete repaving and guardrail construction. Access is anticipated to expand to a single lane of traffic in May with road delays.
The affected roadway has been subject to landslides in recent years, including a large rockslide that closed the road for several months in both 2017 and 2023.
Popular recreation day use sites and campgrounds, including Terwilliger “Cougar” Hot Springs, will be inaccessible from Highway 126, while access from the south side of FSR 19 through Westfir will still be available. (The drive from Westfir to Terwilliger Hot Springs is approximately 100 miles long round trip with minimal to no cell service.)

The Revolutionists is a true story about four very real women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Or, it’s total fiction; Or a play about a play; Or a raucous resurrection……that ends in a song and a scaffold.
