Jog-A-Thon
Walterville Elementary School students will hit the school grounds Friday, October 16, for the school’s 2026 Jog-a-Thon, its largest fundraiser of the year.
The event will take place during students’ specials periods and is open to all Walterville students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Money raised will support field trips, school supplies, playground upgrades, the school garden and the library art program.
Students can earn an invitation to a post-Jog-a-Thon party by running at least 10 laps, raising $100 or more, or being in the class with the highest percentage of fundraising packets returned. Students earning a party invitation will also receive a raffle ticket, with additional tickets awarded for every $100 raised.
Parents, family members and volunteers are invited to cheer on students but must be placed on the school’s attendance list before the event. Adult attendees must also be Raptor certified.
Ghostly Golf
Camp Putt is adding a spooky twist to miniature golf throughout October with its “Ghostly Golf” glow-in-the-dark experience.
The course will feature players aiming to score the lowest number of points along a course with glowing greens, spooky scenes and Halloween-themed fun. It’s set for Oct. 2 through Oct. 31. Players are encouraged to come in costume, with anyone wearing one receiving $2 off regular admission.
No advance registration is required. Admission is $12 at the miniature golf course, 4006 Franklin Blvd. in Eugene.
Ghostly Golf will be open from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Open House
Camp White Branch will welcome the community for an open house Saturday, Oct. 10, offering visitors a chance to see changes at the camp and learn about plans for its future.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Camp White Branch, 61500 Old McKenzie Highway in McKenzie Bridge.
Visitors can tour the camp, take part in outdoor games and spend time visiting with friends. A soup and salad lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The camp hosts summer camps and outdoor schools and provides space for family reunions, business meetings, group camps, retreats, conferences and other events.
Facilities available for year-round rental include six cabins, a dormitory, the historic lodge and rooms in the Neu Multipurpose Building. Groups may arrange to have meals provided or prepare their own food.
Organizers said the Oct. 10 open house will give community members an opportunity to explore the grounds, learn more about the camp’s facilities and programs, and hear about its plans for the future.
