New App Connects Bus Riders to Multiple Transit Options

Getting around Lane County just became easier, thanks to a new mobile app partnership launched by Lane Transit District (LTD). The district announced this week that it has teamed up with Transit, a popular trip-planning app that integrates multiple regional transportation options into one easy-to-use platform.
Through the partnership, riders can now plan trips that combine LTD buses, PeaceHealth Rides bike share, and Link Lane intercity service, among others – all within a single app. Whether heading to Florence, commuting to work in Santa Clara, or biking to downtown Springfield, users can find routes, track vehicles in real time, and even receive alerts about detours or schedule changes.
“This partnership with Transit reflects LTD’s commitment to making mobility more accessible and integrated,” said Eric Breitenstein, LTD’s director of marketing. “By connecting multiple transportation modes in one app, we’re empowering riders to try new things and get further using public transportation.”
The new tool also offers interactive features such as the ability to send feedback to LTD and gamified rewards for frequent riders. The project is funded by a 2021 federal grant supporting the development of new trip-planning technology.
LTD emphasized that Transit is not replacing the district’s existing fare payment app, Umo, which riders should continue to use for purchasing and storing passes.
In addition to the new app, LTD has unveiled a redesigned website featuring real-time trip planning, updated project information, and new resources for customers. The site now includes quick links to customer service, a searchable FAQ section, and pages highlighting key destinations along LTD routes.
