Phillip Rosebrook, Sr.
September 13, 1940 – November 25, 2025

Phillip “Phil” Rosebrook, Sr., a devoted husband, father, mentor, and community builder, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born in Berlin, Wisconsin, Phil grew up with a strong sense of curiosity and a drive to learn. He attended Berlin High School and went on to graduate from Wisconsin State University–Oshkosh. Early in his career, he shared his love of learning as a schoolteacher in Mundelein, Illinois. His entrepreneurial spirit soon led him to establish several businesses, including Rosebrook Pool Service, which served the North Shore of Chicago, IL.
In early 1968, Phil married Carol Smith of Blue River, Oregon, beginning a 58-year marriage filled with adventure, purpose, and service. In 1973, Phil sold his businesses and moved with Carol to McKenzie Bridge, Oregon, where they raised their four children-David, Phillip Jr., Brian, and Danielle.
He was a parishioner at St Benedict Catholic Church in Mckenzie Bridge and passionate supporter and fundraiser for the Dominican Friar priests and brothers that would visit the lodge every summer.
Phil became an active supporter of the local school community through the Booster Club and even coached the high school track team for a season, investing his time and heart into the next generation.
In the early 1990s, Phil and Carol relocated to Eugene, where Phil operated a specialty construction company for ten years. After selling that business in 1997, he founded Business Mentors and worked with his sons David and Phillip Jr., guiding and supporting business leaders across North America, for over two decades.
For more than 20 years, Phil and Carol spent his winters in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, a place that became a second home. There he formed deep and lasting connections, offering mentorship, spiritual support, and practical assistance to local businesses and families. His generosity and guidance touched countless lives and helped strengthen the community he cherished.
Phil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol; and his children David, Phillip Jr, Brian, and Danielle as well as 14 grandchildren and a great grandson. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his entrepreneurial spirit, his belief in the potential of others, and the profound impact he made everywhere he lived.
His legacy lives on in his family, his community, and the many people he encouraged, mentored, and inspired throughout his life.
The funeral will be at 10:00 AM on December 19, 2025 at St Paul Catholic Church in Eugene and at 12:00 PM on Saturday December 20, 2025 at St Benedicts Catholic Church in McKenzie Bridge.
