Voter Deadline

Lane County NewsThe deadline to register to vote for the November 4 election is Tuesday, October 14.

There are three ways to register to vote:

· Register online at http://www.oregonvotes.org with a valid Oregon driver’s license, DMV issued identification card, or learner’s permit. Registration must be submitted by 11:59 p.m.

· Submit a voter registration form to the Elections Office by 4 p.m., Tuesday, October 14. The Lane County Elections’ drive-through drop box on the corner of 10th Street and Lincoln will be open from now through the registration deadline.

· Mail a voter registration card to the Elections Office with a postmark no later than Tuesday, October 14.

“It never hurts to check your voter registration status online at http://www.lanecounty.org/elections before the deadline,” said Lane County Clerk Cheryl Betschart. “This is particularly true if you have registered and haven’t yet received a voter notification card back in the mail from us. If you have dropped or added a mailing address, changed apartment numbers, or moved, you will want to make sure we have your current address.”

Lane County Elections is located at 275 W. 10th Avenue, on the corner of 10th and Lincoln in downtown Eugene. Free parking is available for elections customers on the north side of the building. The office is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2014, the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
