BLUE RIVER: Painter and ceramic artist Debra Meadow will show both 2 and 3-dimensional work at the McKenzie River Clinic Gallery in Blue River. The show opens Friday, September 13th, with a public reception from 5 to 7 p.m. and artist’s talk at 6 p.m.?

Meadow has been painting professionally for 25 years and has more recently added ceramic sculptural work to her repertoire. Her work is responsive: that is, she takes cues from the work itself to lead her to the finished piece, as opposed to working toward a pre-conceived image or object. Wild color and form are hallmarks of her art.?

During the artist’s talk at 6 p.m., the artist will talk about her process and inspirations and also take questions from the reception’s guests. For just that evening, she will also display a selection of sculptural work that does not hang on a wall.

Meadow lives and creates in Deerhorn. She is also the coordinator of the McKenzie River Clinic Gallery. This will be her first solo show at the gallery.

“We feel lucky to have Debra’s show opening on a Friday the 13th,” according to Val Rapp, president of the Clinic Board. “Debra’s works have been popular in our group shows, and I’m excited about her having a solo show.”?

The gallery is at the McKenzie River Clinic, which offers the only primary health care available in the upper McKenzie Valley. The clinic is in Blue River, across from the post office.
