Vinnies smokin BBQ

Vinnie's BBQ

By Dan Purkey

Cedar Flat recently welcomed Vince and Debra Cowan (plus daughter Christina) with the addition of their new drive-thru BBQ shack (Can’t you smell the alluring aroma as you drive by)!

With McKenzie River history (dating back to the 1800’s with the family heritage name of “Watson Creek Road”) Vince and Debra met at church 45+ years ago in Jasper, experienced their own journeys and now have returned to bless us with their friendship, catering service and “smokin’hot BBQ”!

During the last few years, Vince and Debra have operated a food truck at business lunch spots from Tuesday – Thursday and professional catering for personal and business events. Recently, they opened the BBQ Drive-Thru Shack in Cedar Flat offering St. Louis-Style ribs, pork, chicken, briskets and more from Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (38493 McKenzie Hwy).

Every culinary chef has secrets, but Vince uses a “real wood fired pit’ stoked during the night to develop a savory taste ready to be savored by 11 a.m. the next day. I personally have devoured a pulled pork sandwich….still dreaming about the briskets! Come summertime, they plan on adding a picnic area behind the “Shack” for all to enjoy.

I encourage you to visit them at, [email protected],  541-741-6030 (take-out) or 541-972-2159 (catering) for information, menus and more!  “MMM GOOD!”
