Smokey’s going techie

Digital readerboardMCKENZIE BRIDGE: Travelers passing by the McKenzie River Ranger District office will soon be getting fire related updates via a new electronic reader board. The structure, now under construction, replaces a static display board next to an image of Smokey the Bear familiar around the region.
The new installation is modeled on a similar setup at the Middle Ford District. It will display information ranging from the date and time to updates on the fire danger levels and info on whether smoke might be present in the area as well as any potential fire related closures.
