McKenzie Hoops Pauses For Winter Break
McKenzie Boys and Girls Basketball wrapped up their pre-season, non-league games with a trip south to the Valley of the Yoncalla Eagles. The game played last Thursday, December 14, will be the last in 2023 as McKenzie play pauses for the entire Winter Break. The Eagles of Finn Rock will pick up again after the New Year, on January 3, with Mt. West League rival, Mohawk, at McKenzie.
Against host Yoncalla, the young McKenzie Varsity Girls team played their most competitive game of the season, losing by just six points, 24-30. The team posted a 0-7 record for the 2023 pre-season and will host Mohawk in both team's Mt. West League opener. The Mustangs have earned a 3-4 pre-season mark, tops in the MWL.
